Photo Vault Apps That Don't Collect Your Data (2026 List)

Very few photo vault apps say they collect nothing. Of 69 photo vault apps we checked on the US App Store on October 30, 2026, only 14 (20%) declare “Data Not Collected” in their App Store privacy label, and only 4 of the 34 popular apps (1,000+ ratings) do. By contrast, 62% declare “Data Used to Track You”. Here’s the list and how to check any app yourself.

Disclosure: we make Easy Vault, which isn’t included in this data. Labels are the developers’ own declarations, shown as they appeared on October 30, 2026. Part of our photo vault app privacy report; download the dataset.

What the four labels mean

Every App Store page has an App Privacy section where the developer declares what the app collects:

  • Data Used to Track You: data that may be linked with other companies’ data for targeted ads, or shared with data brokers. The most invasive category.
  • Data Linked to You: data tied to your identity, such as an email address or account.
  • Data Not Linked to You: data collected without being tied to you, like anonymous diagnostics.
  • Data Not Collected: the developer says nothing leaves your device in a way they can access.

Apple doesn’t verify these labels, but developers are responsible for keeping them accurate.

How to check a vault app in 30 seconds

  1. Open the app’s page in the App Store.
  2. Scroll down to App Privacy.
  3. Look for Data Not Collected. If you see Data Used to Track You, tap See Details to see what’s shared.
  4. While you’re there, scroll to Version History to see when it was last updated.

The label isn’t the whole story

“Data Not Collected” tells you about the developer, not about your photos’ protection. A vault can collect nothing and still only hide photos rather than encrypt them. Check these too:

Easy Vault, which we make, declares Data Not Collected: it has no account, no ads, no analytics and no servers, encrypts with AES-256-GCM, and keeps its optional iCloud backup encrypted with a key only you hold. See how it keeps you safe.

Frequently asked questions

Which photo vault apps don't collect data?

In October 2026, 14 of 69 photo vault apps on the US App Store (20%) declared 'Data Not Collected' in their privacy label. Only four of them had 1,000 or more ratings: Secret Photo Vault Lock Photos, Safe Lock - Hidden Photo Vault, Converter: Hidden Photo Vault and Private Browser - Photo Vault.

What does 'Data Not Collected' mean on the App Store?

It means the developer declares that no data leaves your device in a way they or their partners can access, beyond what's needed to handle a request in the moment. Apple doesn't verify the label, but developers must keep it accurate.

How do I see an app's privacy label?

Open the app's page in the App Store and scroll down to App Privacy. You'll see one or more boxes: Data Used to Track You, Data Linked to You, Data Not Linked to You, or Data Not Collected. Tap See Details for the specific data types.

Is a vault app with 'Data Not Collected' automatically secure?

No. The label is about data the developer collects, not about how well your photos are protected. Also check that the app encrypts photos with a named cipher and has its own passcode, separate from your iPhone passcode.
