Easy Vault

Privacy policy

Effective October 31, 2026

The short version: Easy Vault doesn't collect your data. Your photos, videos and files are encrypted on your device with a key only you hold. We have no accounts and no servers, and the app has no ads, analytics or tracking.

1. Who we are

Easy Vault is published by Sivakumar Masilamani ("we", "us"). We are responsible for this policy and for the processing it describes. You can reach us at support@easyvault.app.

This policy covers the Easy Vault app for iPhone and iPad (including its share extension) and the website easyvault.app.

2. Information we collect

We do not collect personal information through the app. Easy Vault has no user accounts, and we do not operate servers that receive your content, your activity or identifiers about you. Nothing you store in Easy Vault is sent to us.

3. Information that stays on your device

The following is created and kept only on your iPhone or iPad. We cannot access it.

  • Your vault: photos, videos, files and their names, encrypted with AES-256-GCM.
  • Your pattern or password: never stored. It is turned into an encryption key on your device with Argon2id.
  • Your recovery key: shown to you once. We never receive a copy.
  • Settings: such as your decoy vault, Vanish mode and app icon. Decoy and Vanish mode settings are stored inside your encrypted vault.
  • Face ID and Touch ID: handled entirely by iOS. Easy Vault only learns whether a match succeeded and never receives biometric data.

4. Permissions the app asks for

Easy Vault asks for access only when you use a feature that needs it, and only for that feature:

  • Photos: to remove originals from your photo library after you move them into your vault, and to save a photo back to your library when you choose to.
  • Camera and microphone: to take photos and videos straight into your vault. They are not saved to your camera roll.
  • Face ID: to unlock your vault, if you turn it on.

When you share items to Easy Vault from another app, the share extension encrypts them immediately and keeps them in a private area of your device until you next unlock your vault. You can change permissions anytime in your device's Settings.

5. iCloud backup

If you turn on iCloud backup, your vault is encrypted on your device before it is uploaded to your own private iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit. Only your recovery key can open the backup. We cannot access, read or restore it, and Apple cannot read its contents. Storage in iCloud is provided by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.

6. Purchases

Easy Vault Plus is sold through the App Store. Apple processes payments and handles your payment and account details under its own privacy policy. The app only checks with Apple, on your device, whether you have an active purchase. We do not receive your name, email address or payment information.

7. Diagnostics from Apple

The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting tools. If you have chosen in your device's settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide us with crash reports and aggregated usage statistics that do not identify you. You can turn this off in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.

8. This website

easyvault.app uses no cookies and no advertising or cross-site trackers. To learn which pages are useful, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifying you. We see totals such as the pages visited, the site a visitor came from, and their country, browser and device type, but nothing that tells us who you are, and visits are not followed across other websites.

The free tools on this site process your photos entirely in your browser. Photos are never sent to us, to Cloudflare or to anyone else.

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard technical data, such as IP addresses and browser information, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

9. Emails to us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply to you. Emails are handled by our email providers and kept only as long as needed to help you. Please never send your passcode or recovery key; we will never ask for them.

10. Keeping and deleting your information

  • On your device: your vault stays until you delete items or the app. Deleting Easy Vault removes everything stored on your device.
  • iCloud backup: turn off backup in Easy Vault's Settings and choose to delete it, or manage it in your device's iCloud settings.
  • Emails: ask us at support@easyvault.app and we will delete your messages.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation and California law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information about you, and to object to or restrict its use. Because we do not hold data from the app, there is usually nothing for us to provide, but we will answer any request sent to support@easyvault.app. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information.

12. Children

Easy Vault is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. Since the app collects no personal information, no child's data is sent to us.

13. Security

Everything in your vault is encrypted on your device, each file with its own key, and protected by your passcode and, where available, your device's Secure Enclave. Learn more on our security page.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above, and for significant changes we will say so on this page and in the app's update notes.
