I forgot my pattern or password. Can you reset it?

We can't, because we never have your key. Use the recovery key you saved during setup: delete and reinstall Easy Vault, tap Restore from iCloud backup, and enter your recovery key. This works if iCloud backup was on.

How do I move my vault to a new iPhone?

On your old iPhone, make sure Back up to iCloud is on in Easy Vault's Settings. On the new iPhone, sign in to the same iCloud account, install Easy Vault, tap Restore from iCloud backup and enter your recovery key.

I lost my recovery key.

If you can still open your vault, go to Settings and tap Create a new recovery key. Your old key stops working. Save the new one somewhere safe, like a password manager.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open Easy Vault, go to Settings and tap Restore purchases. Use the same Apple ID you bought it with. Purchases are handled by Apple, so we can't look them up for you.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Easy Vault. Cancel at least 24 hours before it renews. Lifetime is a one-time purchase and never renews.

What is the decoy vault?

A second passcode that opens a separate vault with harmless photos. Use it if someone pushes you to open the app. Set it up in Settings, under Decoy vault.

What is Vanish mode?

With Vanish mode on, opening the decoy also removes your main vault from that iPhone. Your iCloud backup is kept, so you can restore the main vault later with your recovery key. Turn it on or off in Settings with your decoy passcode. Never open the decoy yourself while it's on.

Does Face ID open my decoy?

No. Face ID always opens your main vault. That's why, once you set up a decoy, Face ID no longer starts by itself on the lock screen: tap Use Face ID when you want it, and enter your decoy passcode if someone makes you open the app. Turning on Vanish mode turns Face ID off, so only your passcodes open the app. Tip: on iPhone, briefly holding the side button and a volume button turns off Face ID until your iPhone passcode is entered.

Is my iCloud backup encrypted?

Yes. Everything is encrypted on your iPhone before it's uploaded, and only your recovery key can open the backup. Apple and we can't read it.

What happens to my vault if I delete the app?

Deleting Easy Vault permanently deletes your vault from that iPhone, including your decoy. If Back up to iCloud was on, your encrypted backup stays in your iCloud, so you can reinstall the app, tap Restore from iCloud backup and enter your recovery key to get everything back. Without a backup, the photos and files can't be recovered, by us or anyone else.

Is Easy Vault on Android?

No. Easy Vault is only for iPhone and iPad. There's no Android version.

How do I delete everything?

First, in Easy Vault's Settings, turn off Back up to iCloud and choose Turn Off and Delete Backup. Then delete the app, which removes everything on your iPhone. If you've already deleted the app, you can remove the backup in the Settings app: tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Account Storage, then Easy Vault, and Delete Data.
