Convert to

HEIC decoding uses the open-source libheif (LGPL), loaded into your browser.

    Why convert HEIC to JPG?

iPhones save photos as HEIC, a format that keeps them looking the same at about half the size of a JPG. But plenty of places still can't open HEIC: some Windows PCs, websites, upload forms, printing services and older apps. A JPG copy works everywhere, and your original photo isn't changed.

    How it works

    1. Choose or drop your photos. Convert one or hundreds at a time.
    2. Wait a moment. Each photo is converted on your device, one after another.
    3. Download. Save photos one by one, or tap Download all for a ZIP.

Copies are saved at high quality (92%), a good balance of quality and size. Need a lossless copy? Use the HEIC to PNG converter.

Your photos stay on your device

Many online converters upload your photos to their servers. This one converts them inside your browser and saves the results straight back to your device. You can even turn off Wi-Fi after the page loads and it still works.

By default, converted copies also leave out the location and other hidden details your iPhone saves in each photo. To see what a photo reveals, use the photo location finder.

Other ways to get JPGs from your iPhone

    • Take JPG photos: Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible.
    • Convert when copying to a computer: Settings → Apps → Photos, under Transfer to Mac or PC, choose Automatic.
    • On a Mac: open the photo in Preview, then File → Export and choose JPEG. In the Photos app, File → Export works for many photos at once.
    • On Windows: install the free HEIF Image Extensions from the Microsoft Store to open HEIC in the Photos app (some PCs also need HEVC Video Extensions), then save as JPG.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I convert HEIC to JPG?

Choose or drop your HEIC photos above with JPG selected. Each one is converted in your browser, and you can download them one by one or all at once as a ZIP. On a Mac you can also open the photo in Preview, choose File, Export, and pick JPEG.

Is this HEIC to JPG converter free?

Yes, with no limits, watermarks or sign-up. Your photos are converted on your own device and never uploaded, because this site has no server that could receive them.

Does converting HEIC to JPG lose quality?

Very little. Copies are saved at high JPG quality, so the difference isn't visible in normal use. If you need an exact, lossless copy for editing, choose PNG instead.

Does converting keep the date and location?

Only if you want it to. By default the converted copies leave out the location, date, phone model and other hidden details. Untick Remove location and other hidden details to keep them.

How do I make my iPhone take JPG photos instead of HEIC?

Open Settings, then Camera, then Formats, and choose Most Compatible. New photos are saved as JPG. They take up more space than HEIC.
